First of all, Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you enjoy this special time.

Here in beautiful Steamboat, as was discussed at the recent Colorado Group Realty Round Up and Expo, one thing that our town NEEDS as soon as possible is snow! Mother Nature's light, fluffy, champagne powder is much anticipated.

During the Round Up, some interesting facts and figures were presented; showing Steamboat has a lot of exciting redevelopment now and in the future and is still a fantastic value. While sales are down from 2007, average sales price has continued to stay strong. A panel of lenders were encouraging, stating that there are loans available for qualified buyers and second homes. They recommended potential property buyers to not be discouraged by the many headlines.

Overall our interpretation of the information presented was how lucky we are here in Steamboat. The amount of redevelopment occurring at the base of the ski area is just enough to improve the quality of our visitors experience, yet not enough to create massive overbuilding and future pessimism. The projects currently in planning look incredible and provide the positive outlook for continued momentum into the future.

We have decided over the holiday it would be a good idea to turn off the television (except for football, of course) and ignore all the sensationalism. Yes, the reality of these challenging times should not be denied but what a great opportunity a holiday like Thanksgiving offers. A day to focus on gratitude; a day to be thankful for what is truly important: family, friends, health and of course, delicious food and wine. Thanks and Enjoy!
